🎭 Carnival in Catania — Loud, Colorful, and Just a Little Wild

Catania just did what Catania does best — it took something traditional and turned it into a full-on street moment.

Carnival here isn’t as famous as Acireale’s giant floats, but that’s actually what makes it good. It feels closer. Less polished. More real.

You could hear it before you saw it — music echoing through the streets, kids running around in superhero capes and princess dresses, confetti everywhere. And not just on the ground. In your hair. In your shoes. Probably still in someone’s pocket.

There’s something about Carnival that softens the city for a few days. People smile more. Strangers talk. Adults pretend they’re “just watching for the kids” but secretly love it.

Street performers pop up. Small parades pass through neighborhoods. Bars get louder. Pastry shops push out trays of chiacchiere and castagnole like it’s a competition.

It’s chaotic in that very Catanese way — not perfectly organized, not perfectly clean — but completely alive.

And maybe that’s the point.

For a moment, nobody cares about work, traffic, or the usual rhythm of the city. It’s just color, sugar, music, and a reason to be outside together.

If you missed it this year, don’t worry.
Carnival always comes back.

And in Catania, it never arrives quietly.

🧱 Lego Day in Catania — Not Just for Kids

If you’re looking for something a little different this weekend — something creative, playful, and surprisingly smart — Lego Day at the Ludum Science Center might be exactly it.

Taking place on February 21–22 from 17:30, this isn’t just about stacking bricks. It’s about mixing imagination with science.

Think hands-on experiments, interactive demonstrations, and clever illusions that make you question how things actually work.

Yes, it’s great for kids.
But let’s be honest — adults enjoy this just as much.

There’s something strangely satisfying about watching simple pieces turn into something impressive.

And when you combine Lego with science experiments, it becomes more than a toy. It becomes curiosity in action.

The entry is affordable (around €8–10), and the atmosphere is relaxed and engaging. It’s the kind of event where you can walk around freely, try things out, ask questions, and actually participate instead of just watching from a distance.

If you’ve been spending too much time indoors lately, or just want an excuse to feel creative again, this is a fun and easy option.

Sometimes the best evenings are the ones where you build something — even if it’s just for fun.
